Maximise your time with an overnight flight to Delhi.

Today, enjoy a morning city tour of Amritsar.
Amritstar, founded by the fourth Sikh guru, Ram Das, is best known for its extraordinary Golden Temple – the sacred shrine of the Sikhs. Guru Arjun Dev built the temple and Ranjit Singh, the Sikh ruler, enriched the shine by covering its dome with copper, overlaid with pure gold. The interior of the temple contains fine filigree and gold inlay work whilst the exterior walls are inlaid with precious stones. The nearby national monument, Jallianwala Bagh, holds a prominent place in history for its significance during the British rule in India. There will be time, too, to enjoy the beautiful Rambagh Gardens and visit Khalsa and Glency Medical Colleges and the Durgiana Temple.
In the late afternoon drive to Wagah to witness the closing ceremony at sunset of the India-Pakistan border. The changing of the guards is carried out with great pomp. Soldiers from both countries march in perfect drill, going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. As the sun goes down, nationalistic fervour rises, and lights are switched on marking the end of the day amidst thunderous applause.
